Here’s your Spring Training 1926 injury report -mid camp breaks towards cut week.

As camp breaks and the St. Louis Cardinals prepare to depart for the regular season, the club emerges from training in generally sound physical condition, with only minor ailments of note.

Player-manager Rogers Hornsby reports in strong health following a productive spring. While occasional stiffness in the legs is observed after extended field drills, no condition threatens his readiness for everyday duty at second base.

Outfielder Jim Bottomley experiences minor soreness in the shoulder after heavy batting practice, though club trainers regard the matter as temporary and not expected to limit his presence in the lineup.

Speedy outfielder Taylor Douthit is slowed briefly by a leg strain sustained during base-running exercises. Rest and light work are prescribed, and he is anticipated to regain full speed shortly after the season’s commencement.

On the pitching staff, veteran Jesse Haines shows mild arm fatigue typical of early-season conditioning. The club intends to employ careful usage in the opening weeks to preserve his effectiveness.

Overall, the Cardinals depart camp with encouraging health, their roster largely intact and prepared for the demands of the approaching pennant race.
